In my last blog post, The Wonderful World of Product Creation, I gave an introduction on how to develop and create your own products and about the kinds of products you can create.

But, how do you create a product?

Whether you want to develop a physical, intellectual, or digital product, you need to start somewhere.

In this blog post, we’ll get you started on finding a product you will want to create.

The first question is usually “Where do I start?”

Do you?

Have business cards printed.

Have a telephone installed.

Grab a pencil and paper, sit down at the table and start inventing.

Absolutely not!

So what do you do? The first thing you must do is…

Find Problems

What do successful product inventors do?

They find a problem and then find a solution to that problem.

So your first job is to find a problem but where do you start?

Start in your own life, look around to the things that you do.

Are there times when you wish you had something to make your life easier?

Are there things you wish could help you do something faster or better?

Is there information that you wish you had before you made a decision?

These are all places to start when you’re developing products – whether physical or digital.

The secret is to start with what you know and try to see if there’s a problem that you can fix.

Problem Brainstorming

How do you find problems?

As you go through the discovery process, don’t worry too much about the solution (we’ll get to that later) but use these steps to simply start listing problems in your life.

As you get ideas… be sure to jot them down… but when don’t just stop and start to work on that idea, keep going with the problems list; so get a pen and paper and make a list of…

The times you’ve hurt yourself and how it happened. It can be anything, maybe you slipped and fell or maybe you hurt yourself in the kitchen or while fixing your car.

The times when you were embarrassed about something. Maybe you didn’t know something or you should have or felt uncomfortable in a social situation.

The times you’ve been frustrated because you didn’t know how to do something. Like maybe, your toilet overflowed or your call stalled or you didn’t know how to change the diaper of your little nephew.

The times when something physical impaired you. For example, you were too tired or too heavy or too weak or …

Or other things that was a problem or irritation to you, no matter how minor.

After you make the list you should have a list of at least 25 (on up to 50) issues and problems.

This list becomes your idea journal, something you should carry around with you at all times so that when you see something, when something “bothers” you or you get a great idea you have it all in one place (and you know where that place is

From this list, you should be able to come up with a product that solves the problem; and what’s really great is you have a list for future products or to replace products that don’t sell well.

Now is the time, when you’re just starting to do things right.

So you should create a product creation workbook.

Get a binder with tabs. Each tab will be one product and you will put in the product description, the solution description, alternate or additional ideas, research results and Web sites, all everything else related to the product.

As you create products you will add tabs for that product; alternatively you could get smaller binders and have one binder for each product.

I know this sounds very manual and like work but, while you can and should keep digital copies of everything you can, the sheer act of putting in the binder actually helps solidify things in your mind and make it more successful.

Plus you can access you product information anywhere and anytime without needing a computer. After all, brainstorming in front of a computer isn’t always the best place.

Okay, back to the finding the problems.

If you don’t yet have a list or 25 or more problems, or are having a hard time coming up with many then try finishing the below sentences to get you going:

Wouldn’t it be nice if…

I sure wish I had more…

I sure wish I had less…

I really hate it when…

What do I do when _____ happens?

It takes so long to do…

I get annoyed when…

I was so embarrassed when…

Just the other day I recently forgot…

I wish I know how to…

I really don’t enjoy…

I would like _____ so much more if…

A bad event in my life was when…

These questions should elicit responses to problems and issues.

Use Magazines

Another way you can find problems is to look at magazines.

Go to a library or bookstore and look at popular magazines; particularly those very specific topic magazines — don’t look at the news magazines because they won’t often have what you’re looking for.

Remember, you want to find specific problems that have solutions you can provide.

Article titles are particularly good for quickly finding problems; for example, an article title “7 Ways to Cut Home Heating Costs” tells you that this is a topic important enough to a large group of people that a magazine wrote an article about it.

This cost of heating might just be the problem you are looking for!

Looking at magazines make it easy to develop products because they have been carefully researched to be topics that would be of great interest to their subscribers and readers.

And they frequently do exactly what you are looking to do, that is, find solutions to problems in the lives of their audience.

So leverage on the time and money they’ve spent by getting ideas and creating products from their work.

Use the Internet

The Internet can be a great place to find ideas.

Go to both popular forums or popular groups (like in Yahoo!, Facebook, etc.) and find out what people are talking about.

If a lot of people have problems with a particular thing this may be just what you were looking for; write all those you find in your idea journal.

Yahoo Answers! And other sites like it are also another good place to look because it is where people come specifically to get answer to problems.

This can be an idea gold mine.

Other sites like Google, ClickBank, Commission Junction, etc. can also be places that can give you information on what people are looking for and problems needing solving.

Conclusion

Creating successful products isn’t just sitting down starting a company.

The world of sales and marketing doesn’t follow the “If you build it they will come” philosophy.

They solve a need or problem that exists in enough people that they are willing to purchase a solution.

So you need to start by identifying a problem.

Create an idea journal to list ideas, issues and problems as you think of or experience them.

To get started sit down and find things that troubled you or things you hope and wish for.

One way of doing that is finishing these sentences:

Wouldn’t it be nice if…

I sure wish I had more…

I sure wish I had less…

I really hate it when…

What do I do when _____ happens?

It takes so long to do…

I get annoyed when…

I was so embarrassed when…

Just the other day I recently forgot…

I wish I know how to…

I really don’t enjoy…

I would like _____ so much more if…

A bad event in my life was when…

You can also use magazines and the Internet to really target specific problems people are having.

Once you’ve found a problem you can create a solution and that exactly what we’ll look at next time.

In my last blog post, 24 More Ways to Make Money with PLR: E-books, I finished a short series on using Private Label Rights (PLR) content.

(Note: click here if you don’t know what PLR content is)

This time I am going to talk about actually creating new products.

I know this is a bit of a departure from the normal because we usually talk about using resell rights and PLR products but I’ve had some demand from people wanting to know how they can create their own products to sell with resell or private label rights.

This topic is larger than on post so I guess it’s another series

In this post, I’m going to give an introduction on how to develop and create your own products.

This will lay the groundwork and in future posts we’ll talk about developing specific kinds of product.

First things first though, let’s talk about the different kinds of products you can create.

There are different kinds of products you can create.

Yeah, duh, but the three kinds of products we’re going to talk about are not necessarily as obvious as you might think.

We want to talk about three primary types of products:

Physical products

Intellectual products

Digital products

Technically, most intellectual products are physical and most digital products are intellectual but you’ll see why I’m going to treat them differently.

Physical Products

Physical products – sometimes called them real products – are products that you can hold, touch and feel and usually they are for specific purposes.

Nearly everything you own is a physical product: the chair you’re sitting in, the computer you’re reading this on, the desk that your computer sits on.

Physical products have always been with us… from the first rock attached to a stick (a “spear”) however long ago to all the toys and gadgets of the modern world.

We don’t live in a Matrix-like world so we need physical products to do things like dress, eat, work, even entertain.

Plus, by developing physical products you will be an “inventor” – how cool is that!

Intellectual Products

Intellectual products are things like books, music, art, and concepts or ways of doing things.

Some of these things, like books and art, are physical products but you’ll notice a difference: these products may require much more creativity to develop and they are unique in the sense that no book is exactly the same as another book.

Frankly, unless you are someone like J.K. Rowling, George Lucas or the Rolling Stones there is not a lot of money in intellectual products to be immediately had.

People who create physical products are called inventors but people who create intellectual products are often called artists.

Later I’ll tell you the secret you need to know to create and sell intellectual property.

Digital products

Physical products have been with us, literally, since the dawn of time.

Digital products have been with us since computers were developed… so about 60 years or so.

However, their income-generating opportunity to the entrepreneur and their resulting popularity has increased dramatically with the Internet; the public Internet is almost 20 years old now.

Two of the most familiar and popular examples of digital products include e-books and software but there are other digital products as well.

People who create physical products are called inventors and people who create intellectual products are called artists but what do you call people who create digital products?

There isn’t just one name for them but often they are called entrepreneurs. They may be writers or marketers or they just may be software programmers.

Which Products to Create

Okay, you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and start creating products!

But which ones should you create?

Here are a few things to think about when you’re deciding what to create:

All products cost time and money to make and they cost time and money to sell, that’s just reality, and each offers its own advantages and disadvantages.

Physical Products

Physical products will cost money to make because you have to build a prototype, test it, then get it manufactured and sell it.

The profit margin can be high but you are always paying to turn the raw materials into the finished product.

Once you have it made, you will have to spend money on packaging, shipping, warehousing to keep products that have been manufactured but not yet sold, as well as marketing your product.

Digital Products

Digital products will cost money to make and they take time to develop and review (plus there’s the potential costs of the computer and programs required to turn it into the desired finished product).

Once the product is made, you have to spend money to create a Web site, get it posted online, and market your product.

Intellectual Products

Intellectual products lots of time cost money to make because they take ideas and turn them into a products whether that product is a book, a hit song or artwork; then they need to be marketed and sold.

Please note: The reason intellectual products were separated out from physical products and digital products is because they can have great profitability but are difficult to monetize and earn a living from.

However, if you want to create these products, here’s the secret: you can develop them like digital products and sell them like physical products.

Anyway, I’m going to stick to physical products and digital products in the rest of this post and series.

My Recommendation

What do I recommend?

Unless you have a real like burning passion to be an inventor and create physical products, start with a digital product.

Digital products may cost money to make at the beginning, but usually that cost is significantly less and there isn’t ongoing costs associated with the production of each new item.

Instead, you can create one digital product and sell it a thousand times and, with a few small exceptions, the cost is generally going to be the same as it is for just one digital product.

Nonetheless, there is a continuous need for physical products in the world and maybe you’ll come up with that one great opportunity to invent the better mousetrap so go for it if you think it is for you!

Conclusion

Want to develop products to sell?

You’re entering a huge world of opportunity.

People have been doing that like forever and you’re about to join a ranks of inventors, artists, developers, and entrepreneurs.

With the Internet, there is now more opportunity than ever to get your product developed and marketed to the world.

You can choose either:

Physical Products: which can have a high profit margin but will have high costs for creation, manufacture, transportation, inventory and marketing.

Digital Products: which can have an insane profit margin and modest creation costs. There is marketing costs but usually there is no manufacturing, transportation or inventory costs.

Intellectual Products: which can cost lots of time cost money to make and, unless you are remarkably talented, you won’t make much money.

While I recommend at least starting with digital products, I will be talking about physical products also.

Next time we’ll talk about how to how to find a product to create.

What do you find hard or scary about creating products?

Which kind have you created or would you like to create?

Please leave a comment below and let me know.

If Resell Rights products and Master Resell Rights products have grown in popularity over the last few years, they are easily eclipsed today by Private Label Rights (PLR) products.

If Resell Rights products and Master Resell Rights products have grown in popularity over the last few years, they are easily eclipsed today by Private Label Rights (PLR) products.

There are some definite advantages to Private Label Rights product but there are also some disadvantages particularly in the license restrictions.

However, Private Label Rights are a great way to make steady income online because not only to you get a complete ready-made product but you can change the product to differentiate yourself in the marketplace.

The tremendous advantage of being able to make modifications to the product are so great that it is no wonder that PLR products have become to product of choice by successful marketers today.

But there are right ways and wrong ways of using private label products and that can mean the difference between success and failure.

We’re going to look at what Private Label Rights products are, why you’d want them and how to use them properly.

As with all the other types of rights, Private Label Rights are easy to understand and in shortly you’ll know just about everything you need to know about them and how to use them to make money.

What Are Private Label Rights?

As I mentioned, Private Label Rights (PLR) products are (usually) complete products that give you the original source documents and allow you to change them in just about any way you want to.

When you buy a Private Label Rights product you get a copy of the product for you to use and change and, frequently, you get a complete sales page and a rights license.

You can change the product and the sales page (or create your own) but, and this is key, you don’t have ANY implicit rights to sell the product, either the original product or your edited product.

Now, before you wonder what’s the appeal of PLR then, let me say that most of the time you do get the rights to sell the product but I want to emphasize that, UNLESS THE LICENSE SAYS SO, you can’t sell Private Label Rights products.

Of course, you’ll need some place on the Internet to put and sell the product, a Web hosting account and a domain name, and you will want to have an autoresponder account so you can easily and confidently do follow up relationship building and marketing.

I know I harp on this over and over but I want to make sure everyone understands AND remembers that when you buy a Private Label Rights product or any other product with any other rights you absolutely MUST read the license; it will have specific rules that tell you what you can and what you cannot do with the product.

Why You’d Want to Use Private Label Rights

You can get Private Label Rights to just many digital products, including digital books, software, audio, graphic images, courses, video, and many other things.

The best benefit of PLR products is that you don’t spend any time and money creating the products, which can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, and can concentrate on promoting them.

A benefit that comes in a close second is the rights to change the product.

The Internet has lots of people selling lots of products.

Sure, there are even more people buying even more products but it can be easy to get lost in the crowd if you don’t stand out.

There are many ways to stand out but one of the best ways to stand out is to have a truly unique product, one that nobody else has.

Getting the private label rights lets you take the product and add extras, update it to make it reflect the here and now, add your own unique “voice” to the product, and a lot more.

You can even create multiple streams of income, something that is harder to do with other types of rights.

As mentioned before, this is one of the keys to making money online that most people miss. You don’t have to sell lots of any one product. Sure, that’s great but it can be much harder than selling less of any one product but having a lot more product choices.

Since there is no limit to how many products you can have that means that income is also unlimited.

That is how most people make multi-millions online.

How to Benefit from Private Label Rights Products

You can take Private Label Rights products and, depending upon the rights, do the following.

Sell Them “As-Is” and Make Money

Just take Private Label Rights products and sell them for one source of income for your business.

Make Your Own Unique Version and Sell It to Make Money

Change the product in any way you think will make it a superior product and sell it.

Create “Niched Down” Versions and Sell It to Make Money

Change the product in small ways to target specific niches.

An example would be a time management product that is targeted towards students, housewives, lawyers, teachers, or any other group.

Customize it, raise the price and sell it.

Sell the Resell and Master Resell Rights and Make Money

Many Private Label Rights allow you to not only sell the product but to sell the resell rights and even the master resell rights.

This gives you even more income sources, just sell the product and offer to sell the rights for an additional fee; one fee for resell rights and another, higher fee for master resell rights.

Sell the Private Label Rights and Make Money

Some Private Label Rights even allow you to sell the private label rights.

This gives you yet another source of income by getting an addition fee for your customer getting the private label rights.

Break the Product into Multiple Smaller Products

Take your PLR products and break them up into a number of small products, for example, a series of reports that you sell.

Make Multiple Products from Each One

Take PLR products and break them up.

Then add new content to each of the parts to create more detailed products on each specific topic.

Break the Product into Many Articles

Take your PLR products and break them up into many articles that you can use to post to your blog, for e-mail sequences/courses, for posting to social media and content sharing site.

PLR products can be a big help to your marketing and save you time and money while you’re at it.

Build Your List

Use your PLR products as an incentive to build your list of prospects.

Use as a Bonus

Since most Private Label Rights products can be included as bonuses, use them to improve the value of your offers and to build better customer relations.

Add It to a Membership Site

Add the product to paid (or free, if allowed) membership sites. This will give the sites greater value enhancing retention and enticing more new members.

Let Affiliates Promote It

Create an affiliate program or just put it on ClickBank or PayDotCom and let affiliates promote the product for you.

While you won’t get as much money for each sale from an affiliate you don’t have to find customers and the sales may well be ones you never would have gotten.

They also become your customers so you can market other product to them,

Give as a Gift to Affiliates

Giving PLR products to your affiliate helps them and helps them help you bringing you sales you wouldn’t have likely gotten.

Submit to Giveaway Events

Many giveaway events allow you to submit Private Label Rights products to their event.

Submitting them can be a fast and easy way to build your list without doing a lot of work.

Just be sure that your PLR license allows you to include the product in giveaway events.

Making the Most of Private Label Rights Products

As I mention, the key to using Private Label Rights products is to differentiate yourself from everyone else selling the same product.

Not only can you change the product itself but you can make other changes including:

Creating a new sales page with new and different graphics

Changing the bonus products, adding new bonuses and/or removing existing bonuses

Changing the name of the product

Of course, the key to selling Private Label Rights products is making sure you get enough targeted traffic. So make your product unique and get lots the right traffic and you’ll “clean up”.

Conclusion

Private Label Rights products, products that allow you to change the product, is the “secret weapon” of many highly successful online businesses and a great way to start or improve any online business.

Here are 14 ways to use them:

Sell Them “As-Is” and Make Money

Make Your Own Unique Version and Sell It to Make Money

Create “Niched Down” Versions and Sell It to Make Money

Sell the Resell and Master Resell Rights and Make Money

Sell the Private Label Rights and Make Money

Break the Product into Multiple Smaller Products

Make Multiple Products from Each One

Break the Product into Many Articles

Build Your List

Use as a Bonus

Add It to a Membership Site

Let Affiliates Promote It

Give as a Gift to Affiliates

Submit to Giveaway Events

Like Resell Rights products, Master Resell Rights (or Master Resale Rights) products have grown in popularity over the last few years and are one of the easiest ways to get a product you can sell online. Master Resell Rights are a great way to make steady income on the Internet because they are ready-made “out-of-the-box” products that you can sell and you keep 100% of the sale. The power of having your own products to sell is great, but there are ways of doing it right and ways of doing it wrong and one can lead to success and one can lead to failure. As you’ll see there is one real advantage that Master Resell Rights products have over Resell Rights products. We’re going to look at what Master Resell Rights products are, why you’d want them and how to use them properly. As with the other types of rights, they are easy to understand and in a few minutes from now you’ll know just about everything you need to know about them and how to use them to make money. What Are Master Resell Rights? Master Resell Rights products have been all the rage for some years now and they remain the easiest way to get a product you can sell online. In fact, other than being an affiliate for other people products there is no easier way or more popular way to start an online business. Master Resell Rights can be a great way to make a steady income because they are ready-made “out-of-the-box” products that you can sell and you keep 100% of the profits (you don’t have to pay the original author any type of royalties). Most successful Internet Marketers make their livings selling information products online because they know that selling e-books and other digital products is a relatively easy way to make a consistent income. While the convenience of having your own products you can sell is great, there are ways of doing it right and ways of doing it wrong and one can lead to success and one can lead to failure. We’re going to look what Resell Rights products are, why you’d want them and how to use them properly. Don’t worry, it’s all easy to understand and in just a few minutes from now you’ll know just about everything you need to know about them and how to use them to make money.

Like we saw with Resell Rights products, Master Resell Rights (or Master Resale Rights) products have grown in popularity over the last few years and are one of the easiest ways to get a product you can sell online.

As you’ll see there is one strong advantage that Master Resell Rights products have over Resell Rights products.

We’re going to look at what Master Resell Rights products are, why you’d want them and how to use them properly.

As with the other types of rights, they are easy to understand and in a few minutes from now you’ll know just about everything you need to know about them and how to use them to make money.

What Are Master Resell Rights?

Master Resell Rights (MRR) products, sometime called Master Resale Rights products, are complete products that allow you to sell the product as your own and to keep all the profits you make from your sales.

When you but a Master Resell Rights product you get a copy of the product for you to use and sell. You also frequently get a complete sales page and a license that allows you to sell the product, “as is”.

You can’t change the product but you can change the sales page or create your own.

You will need some place on the Internet to put and sell the product, usually this is a Web hosting account and a domain name.

As with every type of rights product you buy, when you buy a Master Resell Rights product you absolutely MUST read the license; it will have specific rules that tell you what you can and what you cannot do with the product.

For example, the license might say that you must sell the product for a minimum price to help keep the value of the product high.

It will also let you know things like if you can give away the product or if you can use it as a bonus.

The license terms are as varied as there are people selling them so be sure to read your license, preferably before you buy the product!

The difference between Master Resell Rights products and Resell Rights products are that with Master Resell Rights products you get the rights to sell the resell rights to the product and, if some cases, you can sell the master resell rights to the product.

Why You’d Want to Use Master Resell Rights

You can get Master Resell Rights to just many digital products, including digital books, software, graphic images, courses and many other things.

A nice advantage of products like this is that you don’t spend your time and money creating the products , which can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, and can devote your time and money actually promoting them.

Obviously this can provide you big benefits, the same benefits you’d get from creating your own products from scratch.

In addition, you also have the rights to sell the resell rights to the product.

This adds a second stream of revenue that Resell Rights products don’t have; earning you more money from the same number of customers.

Let’s look at the example we used last time but add this second revenue stream to see what different it makes.

If you remember, we assumed you had resell rights to a product and could sell just 1 every week at $27, it seemed reasonable to be able to do that.

So, at the end of the year you’d have made $1,404 ($27 times 52 weeks).

Now say that you also sold the resell rights to your customers for an additional $27 and you only sold one of those each month, this would add $324 bring your total to $1,728 for the year (an increase of 23%).

Then say you sell master resell rights to the product for $27 and you sell just one of those every quarter, this brings you total revenue for the year to $1,836; that’s a 31% increase in revenue over not having master resell rights with no more customers).

If you do that with 11 more products, instead of $1,836 a year, you are making $22,032 a year.

If you were able to sell 2 products a week instead of 1, the resell rights twice a month and the master resell right just once a month you increase your total for the 12 products to $45,360 every year.

You can see by adding more products, which isn’t hard, and by selling more products you can be making good money with little effort.

This is one of the keys to making money online that most people miss. You don’t have to sell lots of any one product. Sure, that’s great but it is much harder.

Just sell fewer of each product but sell more products, each one may only bring you in a small income but the total can add up to big money.

There is no limit to how many products you can have so your income is also unlimited.

Resell Rights products have been all the rage for some years now and they remain the easiest way to get a product you can sell online.

In fact, other than being an affiliate for other people products there is no easier way or more popular way to start an online business.

Resell Rights can be a great way to make a steady income because they are ready-made “out-of-the-box” products that you can sell and you keep 100% of the profits (you don’t have to pay the original author any type of royalties).

What Are Resell Rights?

Basically, Resell Rights are fully created products that allow you to sell the product as your own and to keep all the profits you make from your sales.

The way it works is you get a copy of the product and frequently a sales page (with accompanying graphics) along with a license that allows you to sell the product, “as is”.

That means, of course, that you can’t make changes to the product but you can make changes to sales page, or create your own.

Unlike with promoting someone else’s products, you will also need some place on the Internet to put and sell the product. This can be your own Web hosting account and domain name or one of those free places (the free places are not generally recommended though).

When you buy your Resell Rights product you must read the license as they frequently have rules that tell you what you can and cannot do with the product.

Some examples, the license might include a minimum price you must sell the product for (this helps to keep the value and profits of the product higher) or it might say you can give away the product for free but you can add it as a bonus to another paid product.

One thing you do not get with Resell Rights is the rights to give your customers resell rights; that is called Master Resell Rights.

The license terms are as varied as there are people selling them so be sure to read your license, preferably before you buy the product!

Why You’d Want to Use Resell Rights

You can get Resell Rights to just about any type of digital product (and to some physical products), including reports, digital books/e-books, software, digital course and even a series Twitter tweets.

One real advantage is that you don’t spend your time and money creating products (this can cost thousands of dollars), you spend it promoting your products and reaping the same rewards you’d get if you had created them yourself – it seems almost dishonest doesn’t it

I went online and Googled to see if I could get a rough guesstimate of how many Resell Rights products are just in a few popular niches. I gave up when I was up to several hundred thousands products, and there are hundreds of niches.

Think of it, probably millions of resell rights products are available to you, think of how many streams of income you could have.

Say you’ve got resell rights to a product and you were able to sell just one every week at $27, doesn’t sound like it should be that hard.

At the end of the year you’d have made $27 times 52 weeks or $1,404 – you won’t retire on that but it’s still nice to have and you didn’t have to do much work other than the few minutes it takes to get the product and put it online.

Now do that just 11 more times and you are making $1,404 every month not every year (that’s $ 16,848 every year).

Now do that 4 more times and you’re making $1,404 almost every week – a whopping $73,008 every year without you doing much work.

And there is no limit to how many times you can do it.

Just think if you were able to sell 2 every week instead of 1, you would double those numbers and, how about selling one every day, just imagine that!

So, why would you want to use Resell Rights products?

They can be wildly lucrative.

I personally know about a dozen people who are making multiple 6-figure incomes each year just from selling resell rights products and have heard of people making 7-figures.

Really, do you need any other reason?

Sure they can build your list, sure they can help improve your reputation and make you well known, but the bottom line is you want them to make you money and they can do that.

How to Benefit from Resell Rights Products

You can take Resell Rights products and do the following.

Sell It and Make Money

Sell Resell Rights products to add an additional source of income to your business. I think you understand that one by now and, after all, they are call reSELL rights products!

Build Your List

Every time you sell something you should be adding the customer to at least one of your lists. Some people don’t but this is very foolish, don’t do it!

Use as a Bonus

Most resell rights products let you include the product as a bonus when selling other products.

This lets you make money directly from the Resell Rights product but also increases your sales for some of your other products because their value goes up by the inclusion of the bonus products.

Add It to a Membership Site

Add the product to a paid membership site. This, obviously, enhances the value of the membership site so you’ll get and retain more members making you additional recurring income (that is, income you get month after month).

Submit to Giveaway Events

Sometimes you can submit Resell Rights products to giveaway events (if they allow them, some will and some won’t).

This is an easy way to gain the benefits of list building without doing a lot of additional work, but make sure you have the rights to include the product in giveaway events.

Making the Most of Resell Rights Products

The key to using resell rights products is to differentiate yourself from everyone else selling the same product.

Since you can’t change the product itself you need to change everything else.

Create a new sales page and use new and different graphics.

Change the bonus products, including adding new relevant bonuses and removing existing bonuses.

Some people also change the name of the product which can work out well but some people don’t like doing it because it can cause problems and some people feel it is dishonest.

The key to selling Resell Rights products is generating targeted traffic so differentiate yourself and get lots the right traffic and you’ll do well.

Conclusion

Resell Rights products, products that you are allowed to sell them and keep 100% of the profits, can be a great way to quickly and easily get products and start or increase an online business.

Some ways to use them are:

Sell It and Make Money

Build Your List

Use as a Bonus

Add It to a Membership Site

Let Affiliates Promote It

Do you use Resell Rights products?

If so, great? How has it helped? What lessons have you learned?

If not, why not? What is stopping you? What are your challenges?

Rebrand Rights are very much like Giveaway Rights, but they are even better

We’re going to look what they are, why you’d want them and how to use them.

Part of that confusion is that the term is not always used the same way by all people.

Fortunately, it’s all easy to understand and in just a few minutes from now you’ll know just about everything you want to know about them.

What Are Rebrand Rights?

Basically, Rebrand Rights allow you to “brand” the product - usually an ebook, report, or software program – before you give it away or sell it.

By “brand” I mean you can edit a few things in the product, things like affiliate links (the most common), the author’s name and the resource box. You then can give them away, or rarely sell them, to customers and prospects.

You can’t change anything else but the few things the original author let you and usually this is done via some branding software that it included with the Rebrand Rights product.

Quite commonly you can give your customer Giveaway Rights to the product.

The difference between Giveaway Right, Reprint Rights and Rebrand Rights are:

With Giveaway Rights, you must give the original file away and can’t use the content on any of your Web properties; you don’t get the original source file

With Reprint Rights, you don’t give away the actual original file like with giveaway rights but you take the contents of the file about put it on your Web page or blog or where ever, so you should get the original source file

With Rebrand Rights, you must give or sell the original file away and can’t use the content on any of your Web properties but you have the option of changing selected things like affiliate links before you give it away); you can only change what the author allows and don’t get the original source file. You can let your customers have Giveaway Rights

Why You’d Want to Use Rebrand Rights

Rebrand Rights most frequently refer to reports, digital books/e-books and software that you can add your links to.

Successful marketers know that, like Giveaway Rights, you can use it to build your list and reward your customers but since you can give away the product you get a tremendous viral effect.

This about it, if you gave it to 100 people you’d have 100 people knowing about you BUT if just 25% of them gave it to 100 you’d have an additional 2,500 people knowing about you and if just 10% of those gave it to 100 people you’d have an addition 25,000 people knowing about you!

All because you gave away a product with your name and links; an amazing way to expand your presence in your niche – think of it as having a great salesperson!

Rebrand Rights products can provide a huge boost in amount of traffic and list subscribers you get.

It’s like having affiliates that you don’t have to pay!

How to Benefit from Rebrand Rights Products

You can take Rebrand Rights products and do the following.

Build Your List

Like Giveaway Right, the most common way to use Rebrand Rights products is to brand them and then give them away.

Take your rebranded product and give it away on a squeeze page (a page that gets e-mail address in return for the product.)

Easy to do and it works great for building you list but it is even better than Giveaway Rights because other people help you build it.

You can even get affiliates to promote your squeeze pages and let them help you build your list, see Easy Way to Get Affiliates to Promote Your Squeeze Page.

Use as a Thank You

Use rebranded products as a thank you to existing prospects and customers; thanking them for having purchased your product, for being on your list and just to help cement your relationship with them.

You can also use it as a thank you for someone coming to any of your Web properties; just give it away without obligation.

Keep your in their minds so when they are ready to purchase what you have to offer they’ll think of you.

Sell It

If the specific rights allow it, you can sell Rebrand Rights products to add an additional source of income to your business.

Use as a Bonus

You use Rebrand Rights products as a bonus for buying something from you; you can tell them about it or delight them with it as an unannounced bonus.

You can do the same thing a special, surprise bonus for signing up for your list.

Give It to Your Affiliates

As you can with Giveaway Rights products, you can give Rebrand Rights products to your affiliates to help them grow their business as well as promote your products.

They then give it away using any of the methods above.

To get even more participation try swapping rebranded products, they can give you theirs for you to use and you can give them yours for them to use, so they feel you’re getting even more value.

Submit to Giveaway Events

You can, of course, submit Rebrand Rights products to giveaway events if they allow them, some will and some won’t.

This is an easy way to gain the benefits for list building without doing a lot of additional work.

Conclusion

Rebrand Rights products, products that you are allowed to brand with your links and name freely use as content is a super, quick and easy way of list building, driving traffic, and building relationships.

Some ways to use them are:

-Put on a squeeze page to build your list

Use as a thank you to existing prospects and customers or to new leads

Sell it

Use as a bonus to a paid product or as surprise bonuses

Give then to your affiliates so they can benefit

Submit them to Giveaway events

Do you use Rebrand Rights products?

If so, great? How has it helped? What lessons have you learned?

If not, why not? What is stopping you? What are your challenges?

Like Giveaway Rights, there is confusion about what Reprint Rights are, why you’d want reprint rights and how to use them.

Part of that confusion is that the term is not always used the same way by all people.

Fortunately, it’s all easy to understand and in just a few minutes from now you’ll know just about everything you want to know about them.

What Are Reprint Rights?

In a nutshell, Reprint Rights are rights that let you take content – usually articles and reports – and “reprint” them, that is, use them, on your Web site, blog, e-mail, etc.

You can’t change them or sell them and you usually need to include the original author’s information (resource box).

These are the same rights that giveaway products have and there are 2 differences between them:

With Reprint Rights, you don’t give the actual original file like with giveaway rights but copy the contents of the file onto your Web page or blog or where ever

With Giveaway Rights, you must give the original file away and can’t use the content on any of your Web properties

Why You’d Want to Use Reprint Rights

As mentioned, Reprint Rights usually refer to articles or reports that are allowed to be reprinted elsewhere for others to read.

There are huge advantages to that because you can have continuous stream or additional content for your blogs and Web sites without taking the time or spending the money to create it.

Successful Internet Marketers know that having lots of great, new content keeps people attracted to them and makes the search engines sit up and pay attention; showing their love by higher search results positions.

How to Benefit from Reprint Rights Products

You can take Reprint Rights products and do the following.

Build Your List

There are many ways you can build your list with Reprint Rights products; here are some quick and easy ones:

Start a newsletter and have people sign up for it; use Reprint Rights products to get content for it.

Take a Reprint Rights report and put it on a Web page, then put a sign up (squeeze) page in front of it and after someone signs up they can read the report on the Web page

Take a Reprint Rights course or reports and put a sign up page in front of it and after someone signs up they can read the report or course via an e-mail or a series of e-mails

Each of those ways will help you build a larger list.

Use as a Thank You

You can use Reprint Rights products to thank people already on your list by periodically sending them a link to a report or article that would be valuable to them.

You can also use it as a thank you to people who come to one of your Web properties (blog, site, lens hub page, etc.) by put the Reprint Rights product on a Web page and providing them with a link to it without asking for their e-mail address.

This helps in keeping your relationship with your customers strong and keeps you on their minds.

Use as a Bonus

Give access to a Reprint Rights report or article series as a bonus for purchasing your products.

This could be an announced bonus or a surprise, unannounced one.

Give It to Your Affiliates

Provide a link to affiliates so they can use your Reprint Rights products to help them grow their own business.

It saves them the time of finding it and creating a Web page for it, it’s best if you can customize the page to each affiliate; this shouldn’t be difficult with a little technical work.

Use as Content

As I mentioned, a really great way of using Reprint Rights products is to use it for content on your Web properties.

Having a lot of great content and having a lot of fresh content will help you get higher search engine ranking.

Conclusion

Reprint Rights products, products that you are allowed to freely use as content is a great and cost effective way of driving traffic, list building and relationship marketing.

Some ways to use them are:

Put on a squeeze page to build your list

Send in an e-mail or e-mail series

Use as a thank you to customers

Use as a bonus to a paid product

Provide to your affiliates so they can benefit

Use as content on your Web properties

Do you use Reprint Rights products?

If so, how? How has it helped? What lessons have you learned?

If not, why not? What is stopping you? What are your challenges?

After getting feedback on my last post about Giveaway Rights, I’ve realized there is still a need to explain all the different product rights options.

I guess it makes sense because if you been around in the Internet Marketing world at all, products rights is a confusing place with many different type of rights, many rights sounding the same as other rights but being different and even those that are the same are different.

In future blog posts I’ll go into depth about many of them but before that I’m going to give an overview.

We’ll look at the most common rights you’ll find and give you a good basic understanding of each so you know what to look for.

Remember though that each product is different and may give different rights, even if it uses a common term, so be sure to read the rights license to know exactly what you’re getting.

Let’s get to it…

Personal Use Rights (PU)

The most basic rights of all, Personal Use Rights means that you can use and benefit from the product personally but you can do anything else with it, including but not limited to giving it away, selling it, putting it on you Web site or changing it.

Giveaway Rights (GR)

For more details on Giveaway Rights see my blog post Giveaway Rights Products: What? Why? How? but, in short, Giveaway Rights allows you to give away the product.

You can’t sell it or accept payment of any amount for the product but you can give it away as a gift.

This is a good way to do list building and relationship building and the minimum rights you need to do that.

Reprint Rights/Republish Rights (RpR)

Reprint Rights, sometimes called Republish Rights, is a restricted form of Giveaway Rights.

It allows you to take the products, most commonly an article or report, and “reprint” it, that is, put it on your Web site, or on your blog or in your newsletter; you must not change anything including the product or the product author information.

You may not sell this information.

This is particularly useful to add content to your Web properties without cost and with little effort. If the source provides an RSS feed you can even have it done automatically.

Rebranding Rights (RbR)

With Rebranding Rights you are allowed to “brand”, change some very specific parts of the product.

The most common change allowed is to change any links in the product to be your affiliate links but other include putting your name and Web site on the product and adding your advertisement.

To stop people from making any other changes and to make it easier to brand the products a “rebrander” is usually included. Some examples are Turbo Brander and Viral PDF.

While no other rights are given with Rebranding Rights there is no other reason to allow branding without giving some other rights so expect to be able to give away the product; sometimes you are allowed to sell the product.

This is a more powerful way to do viral marketing, list building and relationship building.

Resell Rights/Resale Rights (RR/BRR)

Resell Rights, also frequently called Resale Rights or Basic Resell/Resale Rights, means you get the rights to sell the product to your customers and, of course, keep 100% of the money they pay you.

You may get other rights, like allowing you to use the product as a bonus or the ability to add to a membership site but that should be detailed in the rights license you receive and should not be assumed.

It does not mean that your customers get any rights other than Personal Use Rights nor does it mean you can change the product in any way.

This is the most basic rights you need if you plan to sell the product.

Master Resell Rights/ Master Resale Rights (MRR)

Master Resell Rights, also frequently called Master Resale Rights, means Resell Rights and that you can pass on Resell Rights (and usually Master Resell Rights) to your customers.

As with Resell Rights, you may get other rights, like allowing you to use the product as a bonus or the ability to add to a membership site but check the rights license to be sure.

This is the most basic rights you need if you sell to customers who are looking for product to sell.

Private Label Rights (PLR)

Private Label Rights means you get the right to change the product.

It does not give you the right to sell the product although almost all the time some other type of rights – Giveaway, Resell or Master Resell – are also included; again check the actual rights license you receive with the product.

Usually you can put your name as author on the product and frequently you MUST put your name as author on the product.

Sometimes you are allowed to claim copyright and sometimes you are not, of course, if you change it enough that copyright laws would consider it a new product then you can claim copyright on that.

Frequently, you don’t get the rights to pass on Private Label Rights to your customers so be sure to check that.

This is the most basic rights you need if you wish to modify the product itself.

Other Rights

Nontransferable Rights (NT)

As the name implies, this means the some, or all, of the rights you receive aren’t transferable to your customers.

This is most frequently used with Private Label Rights which would mean you can change the product but your customers cannot.

Physical Product Rights (PPR)

Physical Product Rights allows you to take a digital product and turn it into a physical product like a CD or DVD.

Like Rebranding Rights, you don’t actually get any other rights – like to give away or sell – but there is no purpose to creating a physical if you can’t do something with it, so expect to also receive other rights along with the Translation Rights.

This is good rights to have if you want to have a premium product, sell on eBay or want to take your online customers offline.

Licensing Rights/Royalty Rights (LcR)

Licensing Rights, sometimes called Royalty Rights, is sort of a combination of Resell Rights and selling as an affiliate.

It allows you to sell the product and then pay a license (royalty) fee for each product sold.

This is very similar to getting a commission as an affiliate except that you have the advantages and disadvantages of controlling the sales process.

While not as good as Resell Rights, Licensing Rights is generally better than being an affiliate as you make more money and you get the customer not the product vendor.

Translation Rights (TrR)

Translation Rights allows you to translate the product into one or more languages different that the original language; your license will tell you how many languages or sometimes which languages you have the rights to.

Like Rebranding Rights, you don’t actually get any other rights – like to give away or sell – but there is no purpose to the translation if you can’t do something with it, so expect to also receive other rights along with the Translation Rights.

This is particularly good in being able to sell to specific markets, for example Spanish or Chinese speaking markets.

Unrestricted Rights (U)

Getting Unrestricted Rights means you can pretty much do whatever you want with the product within the boundaries of the type of rights you get.

For example, if you get Unrestricted Resell Rights (URR), you can sell it any way you want: the “normal” way but also you can put it on eBay and other auction sites, you can add it to Dime Sales or Fire Sales, can use it as a bonus, you can bundle it with other products, etc.

This is commonly used with Private Label Rights to give essentially unlimited rights to the product.

Beware though that sometimes products “unrestricted” rights come with some actual restrictions. An example would be an Unrestricted PLR (UPLR) product that restricts you from claiming copyright.

Conclusion

Product rights can be confusing and surprisingly complex.

Understanding the basics of what each type of rights provides you will help you in making sure the products you do get match the needs you have for them.

Remember though that these rights categories just provide a general basis for the actual rights you will get. The ultimate rights are explicitly defined with the rights license you get when you acquire the product; be sure to read and understand that license.

I am providing a handy chart for you to keep track of all the various rights, click here to download it.

Future blog posts will go into detail about the primary rights: what they are, why you would want them and how to use them.

There is some confusion, almost a mystique, about giveaway products. That is, what they are, why you’d want them and how you can use them to grow you business.

Fortunately, it’s all easy to understand and in just a few minutes from now you’ll know just about everything you want to know about them.

What are Giveaway Rights

Simply, Giveaway Rights (GR) products are products that give you the rights to freely give them away to your customers, subscribers and anyone else you can think of; the catch is that you have to give away the product “as is”, without any changes.

The 2 key things to know about Giveaway Rights products are:

The product MUST be given away – it cannot be sold.

The product cannot be modified in any way before it is given away. Everything in it – the author, the content, the links, everything — must remain EXACTLY as it is.

Why You’d Want to Use Giveaway Rights

Giveaway Rights products can be very profitable to the savvy Internet marketer who knows how to maximize their value and effectiveness in their online business.

Giveaway Rights products can provide a big boost in amount of traffic and list subscribers you get.

They will not only add a profit stream to your online business by building your list but, if used correctly, these products will help get your name out to thousands of people who would never know about you otherwise.

How to Benefit from Giveaway Rights Products

There are numerous ways to benefit from Giveaway Rights products; here are some of the easiest and best ways.

Build Your List

The most common, and obvious, way to use Giveaway Rights products is to, well, give it away.

Take your giveaway product and give it away on a squeeze page, that is, create a page that asks people who come to the page to give you their e-mail address in return for the product.

It’s simple and it still works great; it helps you build a list of people interested in a specific topic (whatever the topic of the product is) which can then market to later.

You can even get affiliates to promote your squeeze pages and let them help you build your list, see Easy Way to Get Affiliates to Promote Your Squeeze Page.

Use as a Thank You

You can use giveaway product as a thank you to existing prospects and customers; thanking them for being on your list and helping build a relationship with them.

You can also use it as a thank you for someone coming to your Web site. Just give it away without asking for their e-mail address.

Use as a Bonus

You use Giveaway Rights products as a bonus for purchasing your products.

You use Giveaway Rights products as a surprise bonus for signing up for your list.

You use Giveaway Rights products as an unannounced bonus for purchasing your products.

Give It to Your Affiliates

You can give Giveaway Rights products to your affiliates to help them grow their business as well as promote your products.

They can give it away using any of the other methods.

You can even swap giveaway products, they can give you theirs for you to use and you can give them yours for them to use.

Submit to Giveaway Events

You can submit Giveaway Rights products to the various giveaway events; some won’t accept it because of their rules but others will.

Note: without Rebranding Rights, the benefits you can gain from products with just Giveaway Rights are more limited since you may be promoting the creator of the product and not yourself and any links may affiliate links where they get paid. However, this just lessens the benefits you do get and far outweighs the fact that you can’t rebrand it.

Getting the Most Value from Giveaway Rights

The best way to benefit from Giveaway Rights products to create them yourself.

Something like a short report or some articles won’t be difficult to create, use PLR products as the basis for them if necessary, and brand the products with your own name and affiliate links and give it away using all the methods we looked at in the last section.

When people pass around your books, reports, articles or whatever, they benefit in the same ways and your Giveaway Rights products spread virally throughout the Internet.

Conclusion

Giveaway Rights products, products that you are allowed to freely give away, can be a good tool in your arsenal as they can strength the other two Pillars of Guaranteed Success by improving conversions and driving more traffic to your Web properties.

Five ways to use them are:

Put on a squeeze page to build your list

Use as a thank you to existing prospects and customers or to new leads

Use as a bonus to a paid product or as surprise bonuses

Give then to your affiliates so they can benefit

Submit them to Giveaway events

It makes the most sense to create your own Giveaway Rights products to get the maximum benefit but, even if you don’t create your own, using them will improve your business anyway.

Do you use Giveaway Rights products?

If so, how? How has it helped? What lessons have you learned?

If not, why not? What is stopping you? What are your challenges?

O.Y. To help you along I am giving a Giveaway Rights product! This is a particularly useful one because it is software that creates squeeze pages so you can use it yourself to create a squeeze page where you give people the software for subscribing. Download it now at http://www.StreetGuideToResellRights.com/FreeStuff/SqueezePageCreator.zip

O.O.Y. I forgot the tell you how you could get software every month that you can brand and give away. It is where I got the software I gave you above and I’ve been getting one or two new software applications like it each and every month for over a year. Just go to http://StreetGuideToResellRights.com/Recommends/IMBuzz and sign up.

The best part (other than all the software!) is that it’s free to join. When you’ll do you’ll have at least one new, free give away product a month and they even give you a bunch of the previous ones just for signing up.

O.O.O.Y. If you’d like to get more products to use, sell and giveaway go to http://www.StreetGuideToResellRights.com/Recommends/888sale
